MAN IN A CHAIR    acrylic on canvas

This piece gives the feeling of the length of the pose of the model.  The expression of dogged determination in holding the pose for the painter is evident in the mouth and eyes of the face of the man in the chair.  His crossed arms begs the painter to bring the session to an end.  He asks the viewer to excuse him as he takes leave of the very painting itself.  The dark blues and greys with umber brings the tension of the moment alive in cold detail.
