In this early study, Edward hopper offered me perhaps the easiest study I have ever done. The original hangs in the Smithsonian in Washington. The movement of the sea is achieved through the movement of the color forms. The piece offers a child like simplicity easily rendered by the beginner artist as an old Master study, and easily grasped by the viewer.
